Sucks for Bodog! Just curious as to how your affiliate campaign is doing with them? I am looking at stepping up to the table and laying down a few cards with them and just wanted some feedback on their program.

I agree, and I hate the long stupid sites so much that I built my own site and currently I have a 1 in 20 conversion rate after only one month live. I expect to be able to tweek the site and get it down to 1 in 5. Tons of text however improve a site ranking in the web searches.

Great post. It’s true - SO often even the ‘big companies’ fail to accomplish the basics - even with direction it can often take quite a bit of prodding & proof-of-concept to getthem to implement changes like adding new content.

Congrats on the new position, it’s great to have you back in active posting.

Some good tips that should definitely be followed.

With CSS, you could do keyword stuffing (ala points 2 and 3) without anyone even noticing. Just give the text a “class” and then in your external stylesheet set it to “display: none;”

Without the stylesheet, it is there, but with the stylesheet it isn’t. If you don’t want Google finding out, just block your stylesheets with Robots.txt

(I don’t do this stuff, but I am sure many people do)

No issues at all. But being on west coast time and trying to communicate with the timezone difference(I think about 8 hours) was a little odd to deal with.

Wow! Okay, somebody’s been listening to too much hip hop - hah! You could start a trend of affiliate-wear - long pink fur coats, jewel encrusted ‘pimp cups’ and platform shoes.

Glad to hear you’re pushing onward & upward on that interantional front. Forgive the ‘noob’ question, but did you run into any issues getting the UK hosting or domain registration not being a resident and all..?
